Home News Selkirk HS 16-17 YEAR OLD COVID VACCINATION

Wednesday 23rd March 2022

Dear Parent/Carer
A series of drop-in Covid-19 vaccination clinics will be in operation across secondary schools in the Scottish
Borders for all 16-17 year olds.
From Monday 21st March to Thursday 31st March, drop-in clinics will be offering first, second and booster
doses of the Pfizer vaccine to anyone in this age group.
Second and booster doses can be administered to all 16-17 years old as long as they had their first
vaccination dose at least 12 weeks ago. If your child has tested positive for Covid-19 recently, they must
wait 12 weeks after their positive test before getting any dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The clinics will operate between 9.15am and 3.30pm. Further information around accessing the clinics on
the day will be provided by school staff.
Young people aged 16-17 can give consent themselves.
We will not be vaccinating 12-15 year olds at these clinics. Should they require vaccination please attend
a community drop-in as advertised on NHS Borders website http://www.nhsborders.scot.nhs.uk
